Bowen Island
The quiet, forested island of 52 sq km/20 sq mi lives up to its slogan of “Within Reach. Beyond Comparison.”
Water-lovers enjoy kayaking around Bowen Island’s sheltered bays, swimming at sandy beaches and mooring their boats at local marinas. From mighty Mount Gardner to the shores of Killarney Lake, hiking and mountain biking offer both hilly challenges and pure escapes. Bowen’s Golf course is not to be underestimated, offering narrow fairways and challenging greens. The island has 2 grocery stores, liquor store and wine shop, a butcher, 2 hairdressers, a building supply center, several restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops and galleries.
BC Ferries
Bowen Island is an easy 20 minute ferry ride from the coast of North Vancouver's Horseshoe Bay off of the Sea to Sky Highway. The Queen of Capilano provides vehicle and foot passenger ferry service between Snug Cove and Horseshoe Bay. No need to reserve a spot, just show up at Horseshoe Bay approximately 30 minutes before your chosen sailing!

Cormorant Marine operates foot passenger water taxi service between Snug Cove and Horseshoe Bay (and other destinations in Howe Sound).
Bowen Express Bus
Locally known as "Peter's Bus", the Bowen Island Transportation Society operates express bus service between Horseshoe Bay and downtown Vancouver during peak commuting hours. The schedule is designed to align with the Cormorant Marine water taxi schedule. COVID has momentarily paused the schedule, but perhaps by June it will be up and running. Stay tuned here! We will update accordingly.
Wedding Schedule Bus Pick Ups
For guests booking accommodation on-island, Peter's bus will pick up guests approximately one hour prior to the welcome party, and the wedding ceremony day. As mentioned, check back here about a month prior to the wedding for updates on this! At that time, If you'd like to book a spot on the shuttle, please let Heather and Keenan know.
